Hello everyone!

I start third semester tomorrow!  Actually kind of excited too.  Just not happy about the fact that it's draping and I need to get there mad early to fight for a good dress form haha.

Last week, I took an impromptu trip to Mansfield, MA for the second night of Bruce's run at Comcast Center.  It was good, but it would have been better if the pit wasn't oversold, I was aloud to sit in the empty seats, or if there was actual space side stage, but it was good to be back with my cousin for a little bit.  I'm trying to figure out how to manage seeing as many shows as I can this fall.  It's going to be a mess.

I saw the September Issue on Friday / opening night... such a great movie!  I really recommend it, even if you're not "in" to fashion.

Anyway, school's in tha moRNiN' so I better get to bed.  I went on the longest walk with Maria today so I'm ready to sleep anyway.  So sore.

Variety

Reporting from the not-so-intimidating coffee shop down the street from our apartment:
- The first time with prolonged internet access in weeks
- Very obnoxious man behind me is screaming about nachos and bike riding and italian ice and loving sleepovers and his laugh reminds me of Bevis & Butthead.

This week has been very bizarre.  So much so that I can't even believe that this has been a week.

Last Monday, Amanda, Leia, Aaron, and I drove up to Montreal.  Aaron had to head back up for school/living there, Amanda and I wanted to see the Veils, and Leia just tagged along because she was bored...
It was nice to be in a city I've never been in before, we had really good gelato, followed King Khan down the street for a few minutes, and the Veils restored our faith in live music.
We arrived Monday night, spent Tuesday wandering the city, went to the show, and immediately jumped back in the car and drove all night to Philly.  My job was to keep the driver awake, which means everyone got SOME sleep except for me.

Tuesday morning at like 5am, we pitstopped and got Katie, and continued our drive down.
Once we got to my aunts house, we PASSED OUT for like an hour and then went out to lunch at my favorite restaurant with my aunt.  We went back to her house to change and such, waited for Becca to get there :) and then headed over to the Electric Factory.
We pushed our way up during Amanda Blank's set, who I was looking forward to seeing, but once she butchered "I Might Like You Better If We Slept Together," I was so over it.
The YYY's killed it as always, my favorite parts being "Honeybear" and the ridiculous combination of like 8 costumes that Karen had thrown on.
Then again, we immediately left and drove back to Brooklyn.  Waking up at 8am for work was not fun.

THEN, Patrice arrived from Kansas via Chicago to NYC.  So nice having a houseguest and seeing her, obviously.

That night we went to Christian Joy and Jason Grisell's new art opening at TG170.  They banged out a rack full of dresses, t-shirts, tank tops, scarves, and prints in TWO DAYS.  Everything looked amazing.  And it was super fun hanging out with everyone :)
Then we saw "Moon" and it was absolutely torturous.

Throughout the next few days, Patrice and I hung out, ate cupcakes, drank coffee, went to Coney Island, and had some of the most ridiculous subway rides to date.
Amanda and Alex stayed the weekend for APW, arriving back with lots of stories... and mud.

On Monday night, we went to Arctic Monkeys at Highline, which was pretty much why Patrice was in town haha.  It was AMAZING to see them at such a small venue for the first time (past shows include Roseland Ballroom, Hammerstein Ballroom, and Central Park Summerstage), we were dead center, crushed against the stage, and SURROUNDED BY THE SCARIEST FAN BOYS.  Most of them were CRYING over Alex Turner and kept reaching over us to try to touch him.  and of course, he was EATING IT UP.  ugh.  Honestly, lost a little respect for him.  He is like the second coming of Rob Carmine from Rooney.
The best part of the night was dancing 10 feet away from DIDDY. ahhahahahhahahahahah
Then we stopped to say hi to Alexa Chung lol, and ALISON SMITH!, before trying to go to Cafeteria and having it be closed.  We returned to Brooklyn, Patrice packed her stuff, and she left.... See you in October!! <3

Work has been super annoying, but I have the next two days with Christiane instead of Bendel :)
BUT JAMES STARTS WORK WITH ME NEXT WEEEEEEEK!

Also next week, Blondie and Pat Benetar at Coney Island, and then probs a picnic outside Animal Collective for my birthday.  19 is so inconsequential.  Birthdays in general are inconsequential.

....Till my next boredom-induced WiFi run, bloggers :)
See ya!
